An 80s love letter with a dark side
Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in 2016 and quickly became one of the streamer's biggest hits. It's set in the 1980s in the fictional town of HAWKINS, Indiana, and wears its influences proudly — the small-town adventure of Spielberg films, the scares of Stephen King novels, and the kids' beloved games of Dungeons & Dragons (which is where monster names like the DEMOGORGON come from).
At the heart of the story is the UPSIDE DOWN, a dark parallel version of our world where the show's creatures lurk. Each season pits the growing cast against a new threat from that shadow realm, building toward the show's final chapter.
