While painters work on a flat canvas, sculptors shape art you can walk around, and this puzzle gathers many of them. You'll be finding the great RODIN, Renaissance masters MICHELANGELO and DONATELLO, the Baroque genius BERNINI, and British greats MOORE, HEPWORTH and GORMLEY.
Because every new puzzle reshuffles the roll call, no two sculptors word searches are the same. One round a backwards GIACOMETTI hides in a corner; the next a diagonal MICHELANGELO stretches across the grid.
From marble to modern art
Sculpture has been reinvented again and again, and the words are here. There's the ancient Greek PHIDIAS and the smooth marble of CANOVA and RUDE, modern pioneers BRANCUSI, GIACOMETTI, CALDER, ARP, NOGUCHI and EPSTEIN, and bold contemporary names KOONS, KAPOOR, HIRST, OLDENBURG, SMITHSON and BOURGEOIS. We use surnames to keep most words short, though a few like MICHELANGELO run longer — a nice challenge for older students.
