People who changed the world
History is full of brave people who stood up for what's right, and this puzzle gathers many of them. You'll be finding civil-rights leaders like KING, PARKS and DOUGLASS, peace champions like GANDHI and MANDELA, and young campaigners like MALALA and THUNBERG.
Because every new puzzle reshuffles the roll call, no two activists word searches are the same. One round a backwards PANKHURST hides in a corner; the next a diagonal MANDELA stretches across the grid.
Campaigners for rights, peace and the planet
These changemakers fought for all kinds of causes, and the words are here. There are women's-rights pioneers like ANTHONY, PANKHURST, STEINEM and FRIEDAN, anti-slavery heroes like TUBMAN, TRUTH and WELLS, and champions of the natural world like GOODALL and CARSON. We use surnames (or the names people are best known by) to keep most words short and Easy mode playable.
It's a great fit for a citizenship or history topic, or a biography project. Tracking down P-A-N-K-H-U-R-S-T turns spelling practice into a lesson in courage.
How to play
Drag across a word, or click its first and last letter β both work. Each name you find locks in with its own highlight and ticks off the list, so you always know who's left to find.
