Origami Word Search

A single sheet of paper, a world of shapes โ€” our Origami word search hides the Japanese art of paper folding in a grid of letters, from a simple FOLD to a beautiful CRANE. Pick a difficulty and start folding.

The Japanese art of paper folding

Origami is the art of folding PAPER into shapes, and it comes from JAPAN โ€” and this puzzle gathers it. You'll be finding the basic FOLD and CREASE, the famous paper CRANE, and lots of other models you can make, from a LOTUS to a HEART.

Because every new puzzle reshuffles the grid, no two Origami word searches are the same. One round a backwards SYMMETRY hides in a corner; the next a diagonal TRIANGLE appears across the middle.

From a square to a sculpture

Almost all origami starts with a single SQUARE SHEET of paper, and the words are here. You make a sharp CREASE along each FOLD, line up every CORNER, and work in neat LAYERS to build a MODEL. Following a DIAGRAM, you can fold a BOAT, a FROG, a FLOWER, a STAR or a BOX, give a bird its WINGS, and use SYMMETRY and a SHARP TRIANGLE to make it just right โ€” all from one flat piece of paper.

It's a great fit for an art or maths topic. Tracking down S-Y-M-M-E-T-R-Y turns spelling practice into a folding lesson.

How to play

Drag across a word, or click its first and last letter โ€” both work. Each word you spot locks in with its own colour and ticks off the list, so you always know what's left to find.
