From design to finished object
Making something on a 3D printer is a clever process, and the words are here. First you DESIGN a MODEL on a computer using CAD software (a kind of digital BLUEPRINT), then SLICE it into thin layers the printer can understand. The printer adds SUPPORT where it's needed, melts PLASTIC from a SPOOL of filament, and uses the HEATED nozzle to BUILD the shape — this is called ADDITIVE manufacturing.
