The faith of the Gurus
Sikhism was founded by GURU NANAK and shaped by the Gurus who followed, and this puzzle gathers its key words. You'll be finding the place of worship, the GURDWARA, the holy book, the Guru GRANTH Sahib, the free community kitchen, the LANGAR, and the community of believers, the SANGAT.
Because every new puzzle reshuffles the words, no two Sikhism word searches are the same. One round a backwards GURDWARA hides in a corner; the next a diagonal KACHERA appears across the middle.
The Khalsa and the Five Ks
Sikh identity is built around the KHALSA and the Five Ks, and the words are here. Many Sikhs keep their hair uncut (KESH) under a TURBAN, and carry a wooden comb (KANGHA), a steel bracelet (KARA), special shorts (KACHERA) and a small sword (KIRPAN). You'll also find the names SINGH and KAUR, the AMRIT ceremony, the KHANDA symbol, the value of SEVA (selfless service), the ARDAS prayer, the GOLDEN TEMPLE at Amritsar, and the PUNJAB region where the faith began.
It's a great fit for an RE or world-religions topic. Tracking down G-U-R-D-W-A-R-A turns spelling practice into a lesson about Sikhism.
How to play
Drag across a word, or click its first and last letter β both work. Each word you spot locks in with its own colour and ticks off the list, so you always know what's left to find.
